Hybrid Contracts – greater cost, quality and schedule control throughout all phases of a project
Tailoring a contract to an owner’s needs and project requirements
EllisDon frequently customizes our delivery methods in the form of hybrid contracts. A hybrid contract is a highly customized approach to building. Hybrid contracts provide the greatest level of project control while meeting any special requirements that an owner may have.
Often project control, scheduling and costs are the top concerns when developing a hybrid contract. To meet these needs we create contracts that use the best features from one or two contractual formats for design and construction of a building.
For example, we can combine the collaborative features of Construction Management with the fixed price of Stipulated Price. Or we can combine a front end Preconstruction program which determines a fixed and guaranteed scope for design and construction with a Construction Management program.
The most important thing about hybrid contracts is to start with a good understanding of the specific project’s requirements.
That’s why when we design a hybrid contract we listen to the client first. We ask questions so we fully understand exactly what you need and what you want to accomplish. Then we recommend different options that mix the advantages of two or more types of contractual procurement, the result being a fully tailored solution that meets your specific needs.
Whatever your project requirements, we’ll help you get there.
