Finding better ways to build is the key in Calgary
One of the biggest challenges facing the construction industry in Calgary is the dynamic demands of a growing economy and the rapid speed of change.
Prices are rising and finding skilled trades to do the job right is tough.
But we’re not content to sit back when there is so much opportunity in one of the fastest growing cities in Canada.
We’re finding answers and coming up with new ideas to face the challenges.
Sometimes this involves bringing in new people from other geographical areas to relieve the pressure on local sub-trades.
It also means we’re continuing to invest in our people and systems to ensure the quality of work remains high as we grow.
Although there may be new faces in our office they’re people who have been closely mentored by seasoned veterans. We continue to work hard at training new staff and finding the right people with the right core values.
We also continue to tap into our corporate resources to find better and more flexible delivery methods to get the job done on budget and on time.
As Don Smith, Vice President of Operations for Western Canada, reminds us, “This community is our home. We’re a close knit group and we value the open communication that we’ve developed over the years.”
“Many of us are personally invested in this community. We’re involved in charity work and believe in the value of giving back to the community where we work and live.”
We anticipate that the growing economy will undoubtedly bring new challenges and demands in the coming years.
That’s why we think continually searching for better ways to build is the key for the future.
