The heart of a small town but with projects that range from $2 to $40 million
Although Ottawa is Canada’s capital city it is still much like a small town.
And according to Mark Fazio, Vice President and Area Manager, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“EllisDon has settled into Ottawa and become part of the landscape. We’re working on small $2-3 million dollar projects up to larger $40 million dollar projects.”
Our current work is largely in Stipulated Price contracts although this may change in the years to come.
Over the years we’ve learned from our experiences and have been able to fine tune this delivery method and way of building.
We believe the key to effective Stipulated Price contracts is how well a construction team can work collaboratively together with the subcontractors, consultants and the owners. It takes a great deal of good, open communication because Stipulated Price contracts can often drive each party into their own separate corners to focus on their specific task. Each party isn’t necessarily contracted to work collaboratively or communicate.
“This is where we’ve really made a difference by focusing on good communication and team work. This process must be viewed as a collaborative group effort if it is to be effective.” says Fazio.
We’re investing in our people and resources in Ottawa. We believe in this community and are excited about the projects that we currently have on the table including major work on Parliament Hill.
