No GG this time around at opening

There was no Governor General this time around, but Will Rosart said this City Hall opening still had its magic moments.

Chief among them was the mingling of dignitaries and just plain folks at the reopening yesterday of the Main Street West landmark after $72 million in renovations.

Rosart, director of Hamilton History, attended the official opening on Nov. 21, 1960, performed by Governor General Georges Vanier before hundreds of citizens.
