EllisDon Maritimes Supports a New Holiday Volunteer Program

With the holiday season upon us, many are looking for ways to give back to their communities. In true EllisDon spirit our employees are doing the same. This year, in addition to their numerous existing programs, EllisDon Maritimes is taking their efforts a step further by supporting a new cause, the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Holiday Cheer Program. The Holiday Cheer Program is an annual initiative that takes place every holiday season. This program provides personalized gift bags to senior citizens that could use some holiday cheer. Individuals are selected through referrals from staff, nurses & volunteers who work directly with clients who are socially isolated and/or living with limited financial resources. The EllisDon team will be putting together gift bags with purchases made by staff and will be delivered before Christmas Day. "During the upcoming festive season, we don't all realize that many people, a lot of them seniors, are alone. The staff at EllisDon Maritimes are looking forward to participating this year in VON's Holiday Cheer Program! We want to bring the tradition of giving to seniors who will be spending the holidays alone. Let them know we care about those in our community care!" Krista Mason, Executive Assistant, Halifax, NS. The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) is Canada’s largest, national, not-for-profit, charitable home and community care organization. It has served the Halifax community for over 120 years providing in-home nursing care, home support and community support volunteer services that enhance the health and quality of life for individuals and families.
