These past holidays EllisDon Maritimes wrapped up another successful season full of charitable initiatives and community outreach.Every year the EllisDon team supports FEED Nova Scotia by adopting a family in need through their annual Adopt-A-Family program. FEED Nova Scotia is a charity dedicated to distributing food to a network of 150 food banks and meal programs across the province. Through the support of donations and a 50/50 draw, this year the team raised over $600 to fulfill their family’s wish list consisting of food, gifts, and various other items. While the identity of the family must remain anonymous, this is an initiative that the team continuously partakes in knowing their efforts go directly toward helping those less fortunate. "Christmas is the season for giving and our EllisDon family enjoys taking part in helping to make another family's Christmas brighter,” said Krista Mason, Executive Assistant, Halifax, NS. In addition to their annual program, last month the team took on a new cause, the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Holiday Cheer Program. This program provided personalized gift bags to socially isolated senior citizens, as well as those with limited financial resources. The team worked tirelessly to put together several gift bags with purchases made by staff and were delivered before Christmas Day. EllisDon Maritimes continuously demonstrates how a little effort can bring more fulfillment and meaning to the holidays.
