When it comes right down to it, we’re in it together
“We need help.” This was the message received by EllisDon’s Health and Safety team when we polled our subtrades. You told us that you needed help to achieve the safety standards and programming that are necessary to achieve low-risk work environments. And you told us that you don’t have the internal resources, or the confidence in consultants, to get this done.
Well, we heard you. EllisDon’s Health and Safety department is available to work with you to help you design or redesign your Safety Program to harmonize with General Contractor safety programs. Active participation in the Ontario General Contractor Association Safety Committee and other safety groups ensures that we are on the leading edge, not the trailing edge.
We have the expertise, tools and experience necessary to provide you with a first class safety program that fits what General Contractors are going to ask for. Think about it for a minute, why spend your energy creating a “new” program, when most of it already exists at the contractor level? Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to have everyone using similar programs and standards so that workers aren’t left wondering which standard applies? How often have you wasted time trying to figure out whose “rule” takes precedence? Wasted time is wasted money! Your money!
As a General Contractor, EllisDon has a vital interest in creating safe work environments, but also in keeping the Construction process profitable for us, and for our subcontractors. After all, we can’t be a successful contractor if we don’t have successful subtrades.
