EllisDon Mentoring Program
We recognize that finding the right person to learn from or to mentor you through your career isn't a big deal if you are well established in a company and have a solid network of contacts.
But it can be a different story when you're new to a company or have taken a step to the next level where you may no longer have an established network to tap into. This is where the EllisDon Mentoring Program really makes sense and is a valuable tool. The EllisDon Mentoring Program matches you with the right person at the right level so they can help you achieve your goals.
Where our mentoring program is unique is in the way we think about it. We think that mentoring is far more than a one-to-one relationship with your peer. It is an open door to learn not only practical functional skills but communication skills. Our mentors hold a wealth of knowledge and volunteer to be mentors in order to share their knowledge and experience with you. Taking advantage of this resource is a matter of you asking and communicating.
We also think that mentoring doesn't stop with a single person. It's important to help you build your personal network beyond the one person who you will be paired up with. That's why we organize semi annual events where both current and past participants, local leaders and senior executives of the company gather together to give you the opportunity to build relationships.
From experience we've learned that once the formal mentoring relationship ends there can be a gap. Quite often formal mentoring relationships last anywhere from six months to a year but the need to learn doesn't stop there. Sometimes the mentoring relationship continues on a more informal basis and sometimes it doesn't still leaving a bit of a gap. To help fill this gap, we've created a mentoring library that you can access well beyond your formal mentoring program. In this library you'll have access to tips, tools and the latest management thinking.
Whether it's through a formal or informal mentoring relationship, or using our mentoring library, how much or how fast you want to learn is all up to you.
