Bay Adelaide Centre

EllisDon is currently moving on schedule to complete the prestigious Bay Adelaide Centre office tower in downtown Toronto. The building is designed as a signature landmark tower, and its distinctive rooftop silhouette makes a unique and lasting architectural imprint on the Toronto skyline. The impressive 50-storey office tower contains over 1,525,000 square feet of rentable, Class A office space and a below grade retail area linking this complex to the extensive downtown concourse network. The three levels of existing below grade parking accommodates approximately 1,100 cars. EllisDon is working with Soda Glazing Inc. on the curtainwall systems for the Bay Adelaide Centre. Brookfield Properties, EllisDon and Soda Glazing Inc. worked together to establish the level of quality for exterior curtainwall, budget, logistical planning, scheduling and details. Once all of these aspects were acceptable to Brookfield Properties and EllisDon, we secured a contract with Soda Glazing Inc. that guaranteed the performance on each of these items. EllisDon has also been challenged with the restoration of the historical façade at Bay and Temperance Street. The original wall had to be removed, refurbished and reinstalled with new details. It was ensured there were no compromise between the interfaces of historical façade, the new curtainwall and storefront exterior wall systems.
