The Story
EllisDon partnered with Osool to execute a full-scale BIM conversion exercise, transforming legacy 2D drawings and PDF documentation into a federated, data-rich Revit model. Leveraging custom Python and Dynamo automation scripts built on the Revit API, our team programmatically generated levels, grids, structural columns, walls, and MEP components directly from parsed 2D inputs—eliminating weeks of manual modeling effort. The workflow followed a structured pipeline: workflow analysis, solution coding, Revit automation, validation and QA/QC, and deployment with ongoing support. This delivered a coordinated LOD-compliant BIM asset ready for clash detection, quantity take-off, and digital twin integration—at a fraction of the traditional cost and schedule..
