The Story
The Mirvish Village project involves the construction of a mixed-use development located at the corner of Bloor and Bathurst streets in downtown Toronto. The project consists of six buildings ranging from 8-28 floors, with 916 residential units, including 336 affordable units. The suites are made up with 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units as well as live/work office units. In addition to the residential units, the project plans to have commercial retail units, Mirvish Market, a daycare centre, and 586 residential parking spaces.
The project involves 18 heritage buildings which are being fully restored to shell space to allow for food and beverage outfitting. Two heritage facades are being retained, restored and incorporated into the new construction. In addition to the residential portion of the project, there will be a commercial/ICI component to the entire project in the form of a planned central plant to supply heating/cooling for all six residential buildings and a co-gen unit to achieve a minimum of 10% power savings for the project.
The project is targeting LEED Platinum certification.
