EllisDon wins four Awards at the Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s (VRCA) 2022 Awards of Excellence gala

EllisDon was the recipient of four awards at the Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s (VRCA) 2022 Awards of Excellence gala - one Gold Award and three special recognition awards.

In the category of General Contractors - Tenant Improvement - Over $15 Million, EllisDon took home a Gold Award for their work on the Penticton Regional Hospital - Phase 2.

The Penticton Regional Hospital is one of six referral centres within Interior Health Authority’s network of hospitals and it provides secondary and specialized acute care for patients living in the South Okanagan. Phase 2 of the project involved the renovation and expansion of the pre-existing Emergency Department as well as support areas including the pharmacy, material stores and laundry rooms.

The project-specific Gold Awards recognize the VRCA’s finest member companies and feature industrial, commercial, institutional, multi-family residential, and special projects. Criteria for the awards included financial benchmarks, use of innovative techniques, challenges and resolutions, safety records, and/or exceptional project management.

In addition to the Gold Award, EllisDon’s Director of Decarbonization, Christian Cianfrone, was awarded the Zero Emissions Building Leadership Award while Kristine Szeto, M&E Pre-construction Director, was awarded the Outstanding Woman in Construction Award.

EllisDon was also the recipient of the Safety: Superior Safety Record Award in the category of General Contractor - 200,000 or more person hours for our ongoing commitment to safety.
