National Day for Truth & Reconciliation: Reflecting on Truth, Advancing Reconciliation
Today marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also observed as Orange Shirt Day—a time to reflect on Canada’s history with Indigenous Peoples and the impact of residential schools. It offers an opportunity to honour those affected and to advance reconciliation through greater awareness of Indigenous history and culture.
We affirm EllisDon’s commitment to reconciliation as a continuous journey. Guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 92 and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), we are embedding reconciliation into our operations—from inclusive procurement and cultural awareness initiatives to community engagement. As Canada marks the tenth anniversary of the TRC’s Final Report, EllisDon remains dedicated to fostering respectful relationships and seeking Indigenous perspectives in our work.
