CHEO Integrated Treatment Centre

The Story

The new CHEO Integrated Treatment Centre is a transformative step forward in pediatric care. This purpose-built facility will bring together programs and services for children and youth living with complex medical, developmental, behavioural, and mental health needs—consolidating services across eight locations all under one roof on CHEO’s main Smyth Road campus in Ottawa.

Designed to be warm, welcoming, and inclusive, the centre will feature multi-use clinic spaces, a physiotherapy rehab gym, mental health clinics, and modern treatment rooms tailored for children with behavioural needs. It will also include indoor and outdoor multi-use spaces, family support areas, and advanced technology to enable virtual care. A physical link to CHEO’s existing hospital will ensure seamless integration of services, while the new parking structure will improve accessibility for families and staff.

Construction began in November 2023. The facility will span 234,000 sq. ft. and is being delivered by EllisDon Infrastructure OCH Inc., selected through a fair and competitive procurement process led by Infrastructure Ontario and CHEO.
