Brockville General Hospital Redevelopment

The Story

The Brockville General Hospital Redevelopment brought four separate campuses together into a single, modernized facility, significantly improving how care is delivered across the region. The project added a new five‑storey tower with 174,000 square feet of purpose‑built clinical space, supported by 20,000 square feet of renovations to the existing Charles Street site. The expanded hospital enhances capacity for Complex Continuing Care, Palliative Care, and Rehabilitation services, allowing for more efficient and coordinated patient care.

The redevelopment introduced upgraded infrastructure and technology systems that improve safety, efficiency, and the overall patient experience. These include real‑time patient tracking, unified security systems, and advanced medical technologies that support contemporary clinical workflows. Additional amenities, such as a full commercial kitchen, floor‑level serveries, and virtual learning capabilities, improve the quality of care for patients, families, and staff.

Development and Equity

EllisDon Capital Inc. was the sole developer and financial advisor on the project and was responsible for all aspects of the financing, including financial modelling and analysis, selection of a funding structure, shortlisting of lenders, negotiation of lending agreements and preparation of the Requests for Proposals.
