The Story

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is a transformative 19.7-kilometre transit line running along Eglinton Avenue from Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy in the east, featuring 25 stations and stops, including a 10-kilometre underground section. Designed to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and enhance the commuter experience, the system integrates with Toronto’s existing subway and GO Transit networks. The project includes connections to three subway stations, a new Maintenance and Storage Facility at Mount Dennis, and an 8.6-kilometre at-grade section with priority signaling for vehicles. Two underground stations, Don Mills and Kennedy, are also part of this surface-level segment. EllisDon played a key role in the design, construction, financing, and long-term maintenance of the project, which is the largest public-private infrastructure initiative in Canadian history. Once operational, the system will offer reliable, efficient, and sustainable transit service, with EllisDon continuing to support maintenance and rehabilitation of the infrastructure for 30 years.
