The Story
Boasting a modern look, a departure from the typical east coast design, the Halifax Central Library is the municipality's centre of information and knowledge. The look of the building is a testament to the evolving ideas EllisDon brings to the table at every project. The new six-level building was completed in 2017 and contains one level of below grade parking, a five-level reinforced concrete open atrium structure, cladding almost entirely of glass, a green roof, greywater recycling and central services heating. All preconstruction, construction and post construction was over saw by EllisDon.
