Influenza Vaccine Manufacturing Facility

The Story

EllisDon provided construction management services for the demolition of pre-existing structures, site preparation, and construction of a three-story influenza vaccine manufacturing facility. The project scope included site service extension from the existing steam plant, electrical and communications duct banks, water and drainage.

The facility includes a walkable cleanroom ceiling to access an interstitial level which houses technical systems to serve cleanroom spaces, including egg-based upstream and downstream processing, dispensing, buffer preparation, decontamination, washing and sterilizing.

EllisDon's scope of work includes logistics and planning for rigging and installation of all equipment for critical & support utilities, inoculation, incubation, harvesting, clarification, isolation and purification processes.

The facility features 44,000 square feet of BSL2 space, 10,000 square feet of Grade D, and 50,000 square feet of Grade C cleanroom space, and 200 square feet of Grade A space in isolators installed by EllisDon.
