Toronto Pearson International Airport - Automated People Mover

The Story

We build on great relationships and the Automated People Mover (APM) at Toronto Pearson International Airport stands as a true testament to the trust and relationship EllisDon has been able to build with the GTAA throughout the years. Tasked with making movement across the airport more accessible, EllisDon used their expertise to plan, manage and execute to ensure much success with this multifaceted build. Completed in 2006 the Automated People Mover (APM) is a 1.6-kilometre dual elevated guideway transit system consisting of three stations across the airport – Terminal 1 (T1), Terminal 3 (T3), and Viscount Station. It also provides above-ground transportation for up to 4,000 passengers and employees per hour, in each direction between terminals and parking areas.
