The redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital has transformed healthcare delivery for communities across British Columbia, creating modern spaces that support patients, families, and healthcare teams for generations to come.
Recently, that commitment was recognized during an event hosted by the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (RCHF) at the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, where project partners gathered to celebrate a $400,000 contribution raised through the EllisDon Invitational Charity Golf Tournament. The donation will help fund patient care initiatives and critical healthcare services at Royal Columbian Hospital.
As part of the event, RCHF unveiled the EllisDon Patio and a commemorative plaque recognizing EllisDon's contributions to the hospital’s redevelopment. The moment also celebrated a partnership between EllisDon and Royal Columbian Hospital that spans more than 35 years. The outdoor space provides healthcare workers with a welcoming place to step away, recharge, and connect with colleagues during the demands of patient care.
"Healthcare facilities are about more than bricks and mortar," said Craig Enns, Senior Vice President and Area Manager, British Columbia, EllisDon. "They are places where people seek care, healing, and support. We're proud to contribute not only to the redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital, but also to initiatives that enhance the experience of those who work and receive care there every day."
The unveiling was a meaningful reminder that projects like Royal Columbian are about more than the infrastructure we deliver. They are about creating environments that support patients, families, healthcare professionals, and the communities they serve.
Over the course of the redevelopment, four EllisDon Invitational Charity Golf Tournaments have raised more than $1.2 million for the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, thanks to the generosity of employees, project partners, clients, sponsors, and supporters who have come together to make a meaningful difference beyond the jobsite.
The event was a proud moment for everyone involved in the project, highlighting a legacy that extends beyond the facility itself. The redevelopment will leave a lasting impact through stronger healthcare services and the patients, healthcare professionals, and communities who will benefit from the hospital for years to come.
