National Tradespeople Day: The People Behind Our Projects

From the first shovel in the ground to project completion, skilled tradespeople are at the heart of every project we deliver.

On every National Tradespeople Day, we're recognizing the expertise, hard work, and commitment of the skilled professionals who help bring projects to life. Whether they're operating equipment, coordinating crews, mentoring the next generation, solving challenges in the field, or helping maintain safe and productive sites, their contributions play a critical role in every stage of construction.

One person who exemplifies that is Kevin Cordeiro.

After 20 years as a LiUNA labourer, including 15 years with EllisDon, Kevin continues to take pride in seeing a project evolve from groundbreaking to completion and knowing he and his crew helped make it happen. Equally important to him is fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, continuous learning, and safety.

"My favourite part of this job is being involved in the entire lifecycle of a project, seeing a site go from groundbreaking all the way to completing occupancy," said Cordeiro. "There is no better feeling than standing in a finished building after years of hard work and knowing the team built that from nothing."

Equally important to him is fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, continuous learning, and safety.

Kevin's story reflects the dedication trades workers bring to projects every day. They tackle challenges, share their knowledge, support their teammates, and take pride in delivering quality work. While much of what they do may go unseen, their impact is evident in the projects they help build and the legacy those projects create.
