EllisDon has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Defence Companies by Canadian Defence Review (CDR)—standing out as the only major infrastructure contractor included on this year’s list. In a ranking dominated by defence manufacturers, technology firms, and service providers, EllisDon’s inclusion highlights the essential role that complex, mission‑critical infrastructure plays in Canada’s national defence and the specialized capability required to deliver it.

Developed annually by CDR’s editorial team in collaboration with independent advisors, the Top 100 list evaluates organizations based on innovation, research and development, management excellence, contract performance, and contributions to Canada’s national security. EllisDon’s inclusion reflects decades of work with the Department of National Defence (DND) and Defence Construction Canada (DCC), delivering facilities that support the readiness of the Canadian Armed Forces and the evolution of Canada’s defence capabilities.

“Being recognized among Canada’s top defence companies reflects the role infrastructure plays in enabling defence capability,” said Chris Lane, Senior Vice President, Defence, EllisDon. “Our teams are working alongside our defence partners to deliver the facilities that support training, operations, and future readiness. It’s work we’re proud of and work that will continue to shape Canada’s defence for years to come.”

From coast-to-coast-to-coast, this work spans infrastructure supporting training, operations, and long‑term capability across diverse defence environments, including Canada’s Arctic regions. This includes projects such as the Future Fighter Capability Project infrastructure at 4 Wing Cold Lake and 3 Wing Bagotville, Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program facilities for SkyAlyne, new accommodations infrastructure at CFB Esquimalt, and naval training facilities at CFB Halifax. These projects are delivered in highly regulated, operationally sensitive environments where security, precision, and performance are critical.

With decades of defence experience, EllisDon continues to strengthen Canada’s defence capabilities through long-standing partnerships with DND and DCC. Supported by disciplined execution across a national portfolio, this work will help deliver the next generation of defence infrastructure in Canada’s Arctic.

Being named to CDR’s Top 100 reinforces EllisDon as Canada’s premier defence infrastructure contractor and reflects the impact of the teams delivering this work in support of national defence priorities.
