Brock University - Cairns Family Health and Biosciences Research Complex

The Story

The Cairns Family Health and Biosciences Research Complex at Brock University is a vibrant center for research, learning, and innovation. This four storey facility supports advanced work in human health, plant genetics, and green chemistry, and includes specialized lab space with 5,000 square feet of BSL2 and 1,000 square feet of BSL3 environments. At 176,000 square feet, the building also houses a business incubator, classrooms, offices, and a greenhouse. Thoughtfully connected to nearby buildings by pedestrian bridges and an underground tunnel, the complex is fully integrated into the campus. The project also included new roads, redesigned parking, and a landscaped public space designed to encourage collaboration and discovery.
