Canada Drive - America Avenue Bridge

The Story

Spanning Highway 400, the new Canada Drive – America Avenue Bridge connects Cityview Boulevard to John Deisman Boulevard, easing traffic and enhancing mobility in Vaughan. The two-span integral abutment bridge allows for two lanes of traffic and feature multi-use paths on both sides for pedestrians and cyclists.

At 80 metres long and 14.6 metres wide, the bridge was built using post-tensioned NU-1400 girders—among the first applications of this technology in Ontario. Structural concrete work included abutments, piers, deck, barrier walls, and 300 metres of cast-in-place retaining walls, all self-performed to ensure quality and efficiency.
