Centennial College - A Block Expansion

The Story

A bold step forward in sustainable campus design, the Centennial College A Block Expansion creates a dynamic new home for innovation, learning, and community. The five-storey facility adds 136,000 square feet of new space and renovates 16,085 square feet of existing infrastructure to support the growing needs of the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Sciences. Featuring mass timber construction, the building integrates academic programming, administrative services, food amenities, and an Indigenous Commons, all shaped by the guiding principle of “two-eyed seeing” that blends Indigenous and Western knowledge. With a focus on low-carbon materials, energy efficiency, and student well-being, the project sets a new standard for future-ready education spaces.
