The Port Lands Flood Protection and Enabling Infrastructure project transformed a 356‑acre waterfront into a flood-protected, fully serviced urban district through the integration of bridges, marine infrastructure, utilities, and environmental systems. The work included construction of four signature bridges, major earthworks, dockwalls and shoreline protection, and new municipal and stormwater infrastructure to enable long-term development.
Executed through large-scale earthworks and environmental restoration, over 1,000,000 m³ of material was excavated, with nearly 70% reused on-site, alongside dredging and in-water works that enhanced ecological function and flood resilience. New parks, river systems, and public spaces were delivered alongside critical infrastructure, demonstrating coordinated delivery across structural, environmental, and municipal scopes within a highly regulated waterfront environment.
