Saugeen Shores - McEwing Bridge Replacement

The Story

When the existing bridge over Mill Creek was condemned, EllisDon was awarded the McEwing Bridge Replacement project, located at sideroad 18/19 near the town of Port Elgin, Ontario. Completed in 2021, the new build is a 35m-long single-span structural steel bridge with a steel H-pile foundation, reinforced concrete abutments, and a concrete deck. H-pile beams are commonly used in the construction of bridges, to ensure even distribution of weight over a wider area.
