The Story

The Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre (SRIC) is a striking, technically advanced development that brings together cutting-edge research and thoughtful design in a dynamic urban setting. The project features a 13-storey concrete structure with additional mechanical penthouse levels, alongside a 16-storey tower that serves as the home for the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society. Designed to accommodate complex floor plates and expansive, column-free spaces, the building incorporates an innovative structural system combining reinforced concrete shear walls with steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) long-span transfer beams to maximise efficiency and ceiling heights. Its distinctive tapered form is achieved through cantilevered floor slabs and strategically set-back columns, creating a visually compelling façade clad in curtainwall, precast, and metal panels while delivering high-performance structural integrity.
