The final structural beam has been placed at The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre, marking the completion of the steel framework.
Over the past 18 months, the project team has utilized approximately 25,000 cubic metres of concrete, 3,600 tonnes of rebar, and more than 20 tonnes of structural steel. These materials form the backbone of the facility designed to advance healthcare delivery, support innovation, and promote the well-being of the communities it will serve.
“Placing the final beam is a proud moment for our team and highlights the incredible dedication of more than 300 skilled tradespeople who contributed over 700,000 hours to bring this vision to life,” said Andrew Anderson, Senior Vice President & Area Manager, Toronto. “Reaching full height is a symbol of progress toward building a facility that will make a meaningful and lasting impact.”
In the coming months, our team will continue with the completion of the interior of the building, including all patient rooms, mechanical spaces, and electrical services. Once complete, The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre will include:
