Over and above constructing the complex structure and envelope system, the scope of work included the installation, extension and integration of electrical, mechanical and elevator systems, all while ensuring the existing Bental 5 building tenants did not lose service. Furthermore, EllisDon’s services were enlisted by Teck Metals Ltd. for interior fit-out of their offices.

EllisDon successfully carried out all of the work without any interruption to the building tenants that occupied the existing 22 floors. This was achieved through the project team’s dedication to the development of comprehensive construction logistics plans and schedules, as well as maintaining frequent communication with Bentall and their tenants. As Bentall 5 is situated in downtown Vancouver, the protection of the neighboring buildings and the safety of the general public were of utmost importance to the EllisDon construction team.
