The Story
This is the first Canadian facility constructed by Denso, an automotive parts manufacturer, whose head office is located in Kariya, Japan. The facility is located in Guelph, Ontario on a 25-acre site. The contract involved the construction of a 103,000 square foot manufacturing/assembly plant along with a 16,000 square foot administrative facility. The plant is clad in metal insulated foam paneling. A component system was used to facilitate future expansion.
The main architectural feature of the building is a sweeping entrance canopy constructed of a linear metal ceiling system, a design signature used by Denso in many of their other facilities.
