Project Description

The Digital Realty TOR-1 - Computer Room 17 Buildout project involved the fit-out of one computer room suite and associated mechanical and electrical infrastructure rooms, all served from systems dedicated to the space (other than existing E-House). It includes two Computer Room Air Conditioners (“CRAC”)/Power Distribution Units (“PDU”) galleries, four Uninterruptible Power Supplies (“UPS”) rooms, and transition spaces.

From the existing facility utility distribution, an additional two 27.6 kilovolt gas-insultated switchgears were installed in a weatherproof walk-in enclosure feeding four 3000/3360 kVA liquid-filled VFI protected outdoor transformers. The suite electrical distribution utilizes a 4N/3 topology, balancing load across the four capacity blocks. Each block includes two 1000 kW/kVa UPS system in parallel to deliver 480 volts, three-phase to PDU. Each capacity block is connected to a dedicated, standby-rated 3000 kW/3750 kVA generator located in walk-in enclosures designed and installed for closed transition, and parallel to utility for 100ms maximum.

Mechanical cooling is provided by CRAC units in an N+2 capacity with free cooling option included, and two packaged Roof Top Units (“RTU”) serving as Make-Up Air Unit (“MUA”) for the computer and infrastructure rooms.
