The Story

The Carcross, Faro, and Ross River Buildings project involves the demolition and new build of two Royal Canadian Mounted Police buildings (Carcross and Faro), as well as the significant renovation and upgrade of the Ross River building. All three buildings will be a single-storey, while the Ross River building specifically will also include a basement. The Carcross and Faro buildings will be delivered as a non-combustible modular building. The existing buildings will be demolished once the new buildings are fully operational.

ED Modular was contracted to develop the modular design for the new build of the Carcross and Faro buildings in conjunction with the external consultant teams and to produce a modular layout with minimal adjustment to the internal layout of the buildings. This proposed layout is optimized for both production as well as transportation restrictions. From a structural perspective ED Modular will be utilizing FrameCad technology to produce the structure of these buildings with cold formed steel.
