The Story

The Grenadier Square Redevelopment project consists of two twenty-six storey rental towers that will replace two existing rows of townhouses (16 units total). The new rental towers will join a dense cluster of tower-in-the-park apartments located within walking distance of the High Park TTC Subway Station; they will be bordered by two existing twenty-storey rental towers at the northwest and southeast corners of the lot, which will remain untouched. The site is bound by Quebec Avenue to the West and High Park Avenue to the East, and sits directly north of the High Park TTC Bus Loop. The towers add a combined 530 new rental units to the site, nearly doubling the residential GFA from 490,000 square feet to over 870,000 square feet, complete with in-suite laundry facilities. The new geometric and pristine white precast and window wall design contrasts with the existing 1960s architecture and bring some visual depth and interest to the Modernist apartment complex.
