The Port Severn Main Dam Mechanization project involved the completion of concrete works required for the installation of four new mechanical lift gates at the Port Severn Dam. The dam is located on the historic Trent-Severn Waterway, and is owned and operated by Public Works and Government Services Canada.

Looby Construction Inc., part of the EllisDon Group of Companies, was hired in a subcontracting capacity by Canmec Industrial Inc. Under the terms of the contract, Looby was required to work continuously to complete the work, one
sluiceway at a time, to allow Canmec to install each gate and meet the schedule requirements of the prime contract.

The scope of work was completed over a six-to-eight-week period on October 4, 2021.
