The Story
The redevelopment of the Royal Columbian Hospital is one of the largest government-funded capital healthcare projects in BC’s history.
Phase 2: Phase 2 features a new acute care tower with new beds for intensive care, cardiac intensive care, medicine and surgical patients. Additionally, this phase will create a new emergency department, medical imaging unit, 25 operating rooms, two radiology suites, an additional CT scanner, maternity operating rooms, a new entrance, 350-stall underground parkade, and a rooftop helipad.
Phase 3: EllisDon + Parkin will upgrade and expand areas in the existing Health Care Centre and Columbia Tower. The renovation will expand support service areas including laboratory, pharmacy, food services, diagnostic services, and medical imaging.
