The Story

Synergy Credit Union is currently celebrating 70 years of financial evolution with the construction of a new four-storey 60,000 sq. ft. branch services building. Located at the corner of 50th Avenue and 43rd Street in Lloydminster, the building is considered the first undertaking in the downtown redevelopment and revitalization program. The retail centre is designed to achieve LEED® Silver status, promoting a holistic approach to sustainability in five key areas: sustainable site development, water and energy efficiency, material selection, and indoor environmental quality. The building’s extra space and flexibility will consolidate core and business banking services in one location, enhancing employee comfort, and providing member convenience along with extra space and flexibility to accommodate future changes. One example of flexibility will be that floors will be raised 16” off the concrete to allow for wiring, duct work and plumbing. The building will also include a modular wall system. The foundation will be structural slab-on-grade with bored concrete piles, and the overall building will be comprised of structural steel and an open web steel joist. The exterior facade of the unit is set to include curtain wall, clay tile cladding, metal cladding and composite aluminum panels. The interior fit-up will include drywall, acoustic ceilings, access flooring, painting, specialties, and mechanical and electrical components.
