The Story

Set to transform healthcare delivery in the region, this 2.8 million square foot, 22-storey facility will replace the existing Mississauga hospital and become the largest hospital campuses in Canada. Designed to meet the growing needs of Mississauga and its surrounding communities, the project introduces Ontario’s first dedicated women and children’s hospital and will accommodate over 950 beds.

The redevelopment is part of Trillium Health Partners’ broader vision to expand access to care and modernize infrastructure. The new campus will feature one of Canada’s largest emergency departments, advanced diagnostic imaging, a new pharmacy and clinical laboratory, and modern infection prevention and control standards. Two levels of underground parking and improved site access are also included.

Delivered through a collaborative public-private partnership model, the project has been shaped through an extensive development phase involving Infrastructure Ontario, Trillium Health Partners, and ED+PCL Healthcare Partners. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2025, with substantial completion targeted for 2033 and occupancy in 2034.
