The Story

The West Block project involved two phases, the first of which included the construction of a seven-storey commercial and retail building. The building is anchored by a 50,000-sq. ft. Loblaws flagship supermarket, offices, 87,000 sq. ft. of retail space, and an 11,000-sq. ft. restaurant.

The second phase involved the construction of two towers situated at the rear of the development. To the west, Residential Tower A (“The LakeShore”) stands 40 storeys tall. The building includes retail and commercial space with amenity space located on the third, fourth, fifth and fortieth floors.

Residential Tower B (“The LakeFront”) has similarly located amenities and stands 44 storeys tall. Tower B includes 851 dwelling units with a total residential gross floor area of 586,000 sq. ft. The development also includes 605 parking spaces and 983 bicycle spaces.

Additional amenities include 24-hour concierge, guest suites, a weight room, a fitness room, a dance and yoga studio, a spinning room, a swim spa, a spa zone, a sauna, men’s and women’s change rooms, a kids’ play room, an outdoor lounge, a private party room, a billiards table, a theatre, a study area and Wi-Fi lounge, a barbecue area, a meeting/cards room, a pet spa, study rooms, an outdoor playground with mini golf, a roof garden and tea rooms.

The project included a significant amount of excavation beneath an underpass in the heart of Toronto.The project achieved LEED® Gold Certification.
