The Story

EllisDon was the General Contractor responsible for constructing this 80,000 SF commercial office building as part of the Province of British Columbia Gateway Program’s replacement of the existing Port Mann Bridge. This new facility houses offices with high-end finishes and state-of-the-art tolling system technology.

Achievement

Construction Associate Award of Excellence

One of the Province’s main objectives was that the new facility be completed concurrently or prior to the completion of the new Port Mann Bridge, as they wanted to generate tolling revenue from day one. This didn’t leave the EllisDon team much time to build and fit out the new four-storey tower. However, the EllisDon team completed the project ahead of schedule and in just 13 months (for the building’s core and shell), allowing sufficient time to finish the installation and commissioning of high-tech computer/tolling equipment and the relocation of all employees.

EllisDon has maintained a necessarily high standard of quality across all disciplines while adhering to an unfortunately tight work schedule.
As Project Director for the TMC, I can say that working with EllisDon's team on the TMC project has been an exceptionally pleasant and constructive experience. The EllisDon team clearly makes an effort to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with the architect and consulting engineers and with their subcontractors and suppliers is noteworthy.
