The Story

Due to the complexity of this project, it was broken into four phases. The scope of work includes the supply and installation of high quality interior and exterior walls and finishes. EllisDon was also responsible for the design and installation of temporary structural support system to stabilize and maintain the existing skywalk during construction. A unique feature of this Project will be the Platform Edge Protection System (PEPS). The south wall of the Station will also feature Automatic Sliding Doors (ASD) spaced to align with the doors of the Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) vehicle while diesel trains will be custom-ordered for the UP express service. The PEPS will include controls designed to communicate with DMU on-board systems, and will also permit ASDs to open and close automatically in-sync with DMU doors. In addition to the aforementioned, the portion of the PEPS between ASDs will feature Emergency Egress Doors (EED), which may be pushed opened in the event of an emergency, should passengers need to suddenly exit the DMU.
