The Story
The New Student Residence will consist of 782 beds and a 600-seat dining hall that sets a new standard for student housing, campus life, engagement with the public realm, and sustainability. The project will be set out in two phases, one for each sequentially constructed building. The first building will include approximately 418 beds and a new food services facility. The second building will include approximately 364 beds, conferencing and academic space. The dining facility is intended to be a student destination that promotes development of a community where friends can meet and students can engage in academic pursuits, group meetings, or relax in a welcoming, comfortable environment. The food services facility will include a full production kitchen, catering area, and central commissary. The servery is to be flexible in concept, offering a variety of pre-made or made-to-order foods as well as show cooking stations. Seating areas will be bright and modern, with the capacity to serve up to 2,900 students per meal period.
