The Story

The West Park Healthcare Centre Hospital Development project involves the construction of a new 740,000 sq. ft. hospital and the demolition of the existing Main, Ruddy, Gage and maintenance buildings. The new hospital will provide inpatient, outpatient and outreach services including specialized rehabilitation; complex continuing care, long-term care and community health services helping individuals manage difficult health challenges like lung disease, diabetes, stroke, amputation and musculoskeletal issues arising from a life-changing event or illness. The Ministry of Infrastructure has identified this redevelopment as one of five pilot projects that will include community benefits.

Green Benefits

The project will also adhere to the guidelines and sustainability principles of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system, with a goal of achieving the LEED®Silver certification or higher.
