E-waste Recycling Initiative: Promoting Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship

In honour of Plastic Free Month, EllisDon is proud to highlight our e-waste recycling IT equipment initiative. We believe in promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship in all aspects of our business, including responsible disposal of electronics.

This initiative was developed by our IT department, led by Jose Dampitan, Manager of IT Service Delivery, who has taken the lead in refurbishing and recycling technology. We've partnered with ERA, a non-profit computer and electronic recycling association based in Canada, to responsibly dispose of and recycle electronics, while ensuring the data stored on those devices is wiped before disposing of them.

So far, we've recycled an impressive number of electronic devices, including 8Monitors, 347Phones, 35 Servers, 23 Computers, 187 Laptops, four Tablets, one Tape Storage Server, 45 Switches, 36 Access Points, one Hard Drive Array, and two Printers, totalling around two tons of electronics.

We're encouraging employees to get involved in our e-waste recycling initiative by bringing in their old electronics to help reduce our environmental impact and encourage goodwill among our communities.

Join us in our commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental practices!
