EllisDon Named a Member of the World Bank & United Nation's Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 15, 2016 — EllisDon has been named a member of the World Bank & United Nation's Carbon Leadership Coalition. This is an international initiative that provides an opportunity for organizations to engage with government leaders from around the world to put a global price on carbon. Of the 90 business and strategic partners on the list, 20 companies are from Canada with EllisDon being the first and only company to represent the construction sector. The coalition launched on November 30th, 2015, at the Sustainable Innovation Forum held in Paris, France, in an effort to raise awareness of carbon consumption. Through the monetization of carbon, the goal is to encourage organizations to reduce emissions and invest into clean energy by shifting the social costs of climate change to the source of the pollution.By joining this multi-level partnership of governments, businesses, and civil society organizations, EllisDon is leading the construction sector toward a collective reduction of carbon emissions by proactively strategizing and developing sustainable solutions."We are excited to be a part of this coalition and the first to represent the construction industry", said Andrew Bowerbank, Global Director Sustainable Building Services EllisDon. "We understand the impact construction has on the environment, and are excited to bring our experience and lessons learned to the forefront of discussion to encourage much needed change."This new partnership presents another opportunity for EllisDon as it continues to reach goals set by the Carbon Impact Initiative which was launched on June 15, 2016. http://www.lowcarbonagenda.ellisdon.com/
