The national program will encourage entrepreneurship among youth, and EllisDon will be sponsoring 20 scholarships to students Grade 9-12 who display a high degree of leadership and initiative inside and outside of the classroom.Startup Dojo is a social venture that helps high school students learn and grow as entrepreneurs. With the help of experienced entrepreneurs, weekly mastermind sessions and personalized coaching, Startup Dojo students build real businesses before they graduate high school. This experience not only teaches them entrepreneurship and leadership skills but also prepares them to succeed at top universities and challenging careers.“EllisDon was built upon strong values of entrepreneurial enthusiasm,” said Jennifer Khan, Head of Inclusive Diversity, EllisDon. “We want to provide opportunities for youth to thrive and achieve their biggest dreams through these scholarships. Programs like Startup Dojo provide students with the opportunity to innovate, develop business skills, and carve out their own career path”.Startup Dojo was founded by 18-year-old serial entrepreneur, Anjalee Narenthiren. Anjalee founded her first venture at age 15, TechExplore, a social-enterprise that brought tech-education to over 1000 Canadian students. After dipping her toes into entrepreneurship as a teenager, she realized its potential to change the lives of students and their community. Now she’s on a mission to bring that experience to ambitious high school students all across Canada. Other achievements of Anjalee’s include winning the VEX Robotics World Championships in two consecutive years, outranking over 20,000 teams each year. She is also the host of the Young at Heart Podcast, where she interviews successful entrepreneurs and business leaders – from professors at Harvard to the founders of multi-million dollar companies. Read the full press release HERE
