EllisDon once again participated in Steps for Life to support families affected by workplace tragedies as a National Sponsor.Steps for Life is the flagship fundraiser for Threads for Life that aims to educate about the devastating ripple effect of every workplace tragedy and how we can work together to prevent others from being injured or killed on the job. The funds raised by the participating teams go to providing proper support and services for Canadian families.

Normally, Steps for Life is held as a community walk, but due to COVID-19, social distancing precautions canceled all community gatherings.Our EllisDon teams nationwide stepped up to this challenge by choosing their own activity to demonstrate their commitment to health and safety. Activities included walking in their local communities wearing a Steps for Life t-shirt and hosting household game nights. Employees then sent in photos and videos to Steps for Life using the hashtags #MYWHY and MyWHYMyWAY to raise awareness.

So far, teams from across EllisDon worked together to raise over $8,000, placing first in the top five national donating teams. A corporate sponsorship donation of $15,000 was also contributed by EllisDon. As fundraising continues on, our EllisDon teams hope to achieve a goal of $30,000.EllisDon is proud to be a continued supporter of the Steps for Life.
