EllisDon’s was the recipient of the 2021 CanBIM Digitalization Strategy Award: Automating BIM Compliance & QA/QC Reporting. This award is given to a CanBIM Member company that demonstrates leadership and innovation through developing and implementing digital technology for internal corporate use that improves productivity on company projects.EllisDon’s Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team developed an in-house cloud application to facilitate the compliance check and various BIM models by utilizing automated, data-driven solutions.The application was developed to achieve two main goals. The first goal was to automate the QA/QC of submitted BIM models as well as KPI scoring to evaluate the BIM implementation status, and the second goal was to provide an interactive reporting tool to Clients with data analytics and illustrative assessment of various BIM usages.
