EllisDon Reaches Financial Close on Trillium Health Partners’ Infrastructure Renewal Project – The Future Home of the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre

Etobicoke, ON — EllisDon Corporation (EllisDon) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded to build and finance The Future Home of the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Trillium Health Partners (THP) selected EllisDon after extensive evaluations following an open, fair, and competitive request for proposals process that began in October 2021.

The infrastructure renewal project will result in a modern health centre dedicated to providing patients with complex care and specialized rehabilitation services.

“Our team is proud to have reached this significant milestone that brings us one step closer to starting construction activities,” said Max Mantha, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President, Construction. “We are looking forward to building a space that will ensure patients located in Peel Region, Etobicoke and surrounding communities receive the care they need closer to home.”

THP is one of the largest community hospital systems in Canada, seeing over 1.6 million patient visits annually in Mississauga, West Toronto, and surrounding communities. In an effort to meet the community’s growing and changing needs for years to come, The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre will feature:

· A modern nine-storey facility at 600,000 square feet, with space for over 350 beds.

· Increased capacity for specialized care, including complex continuing care and rehabilitation services.

· 100% private rooms.

· Retaining existing facilities to continue to provide high-quality care to this community.

· New standalone Central Utility Plant

· A new parking structure.

Construction for this project is expected to begin in February 2024 with groundbreaking in the spring of 2024. Final completion is planned for 2029.
