Today, ElllisDon celebrates International Day of the Girl. This day is dedicated to celebrating the voices and power of girls, while championing their rights worldwide, and reflecting on the challenges they continue to face because of their gender.

In honour of this day, a subcommittee of EllisDon’s employee-led group Together, called EmpowerHER Days, is hosting a Take Your Daughter to Work Day event on November 24th. This incredible opportunity will allow girls 16-years-old and above to experience the world of construction and meet some amazing women who are blazing trails in this industry.

Daughters, and other girls who are in the lives of EllisDon employees are invited to be matched with volunteers on different job sites. There, they will get to shadow their volunteers and see what it’s like to work in this exciting field in the hopes of piquing the interest of young girls to think about construction as a career path.
